Description

“Yoga is eternal. It is evergreen and timeless.  It is the answer to the infinite stresses modern-day life brings us. Yoga brings balance to our lives, calms the restless mind, and bring us to a point of complete quiet. It is then that we discover our true selves.” ~BKS Iyengar

“Yoga frees one from life’s sorrows and from the diseases and fluctuations of the mind.  It gives serenity and composure, an inward unity amidst the diverse struggles of life. It is the art of knowing oneself and knowing eternal truth.” ~Geeta Iyengar

Retreat Description. Through years of dedicated practice, Guruji and Geetaji understood how asana can serve as a vehicle to penetrate from the outermost self to an innermost, divine core. Though both have now passed from this familiar, physical world they have given us a shining example, a well-lit pathway to guide practitioners to move from the gross, superficial layers to the deeper, subtle layers of the Self. Join Patricia Walden, one of Guruji’s senior students, as we come together to honor Guruji and Geetaji through an exploration of asana, pranayama and sutra discussion in the journey of yoga.
