Description

“The practice of pranayama removes the veil of ignorance covering the light of intelligence and makes the mind a fit instrument to embark on meditation.” – B.K.S. Iyengar

Pranayama is the practice of consciously regulating and controlling the breath. It should be done once firmly established in a yoga asana practice. Pranayama prepares the mind to go into a deep state of relaxation thereby it helps one prepare for meditation.
Instructions: At this workshop we will practice yoga asanas that prepare the body and mind for pranayama. We will go over different prop setups while exploring various inhales, exhales and retention breaths. Our focus will be on observation and reflection of the process. We will conclude with meditation instruction and practice. Yoga Sutras II.48-II.53 will be embedded in the workshop.
