IYNAUS is delighted to present Spotlighting Level 3 CIYTs.

IYNAUS scheduled a day each month to spotlight one Level 3 CIYT, offering them an opportunity to contribute their time and teach a one-and-a-half-hour class.

March 23, 8:00 a.m. PDT – Approaching Eka Pada Koundinyasana I with Miri Aloni Rivlin

The yoga practice reveals opportunities that we were not aware of. Supplying us with the courage to face & sometimes become friends with the unknown. I was surprised that I could balance and feel light on my arms. Yoga keeps us fresh (clean – sauca) & content (santosa).
With clear instructions from the standing and the seated twist categories, we will aim to fly towards Eka Pada Koundinyasana I. We might get introduced to a few other bird poses who get along. In class, Miri will also guide us on how to move into it from SalambaSirsasana. Since there are endless ways to reach our destinations, steps towards modifications and alternatives will be provided for the ones who need a different route. This class is an opportunity to get acquainted with new experiences in a friendly, supportive method – the Iyengar Yoga method.

About Miri Aloni Rivlin

I constantly searched for something beyond the physical, and when I found Iyengar Yoga, the search was over. Since then, my focus has been on practicing and teaching Iyengar Yoga. Yoga drew me in because of its depth as a philosophy, science, and art form. I worked for a decade as a costume and stage designer (M.F.A., Tel-Aviv University), danced for 16 years, and saw the beauty in yoga!

I constantly learn through daily practice, attending workshops, studying with my mentor Lois Stenberg, and annual trips to RIMYI. In classes, I help students build solid foundations and a dynamic approach. I try to bring them into a state of awareness & to receive a taste of this ocean called yoga.

Inspired by Guruji’s words: “Do not stop trying just because perfection eludes you,” I challenge myself and my students to move forward creatively while keeping it friendly and joyful. Being a mother of three taught me the importance of having a positive approach, and I try to keep it in class as well.
