In our current moment, all of us are being called to deepen our understanding of what it means to be a yogi. This series of facilitated discussions and presentations, offered throughout 2020–2021 by the IYNAUS Yoga and Equity Committee, aims to help us understand access, equity, and inclusivity as it relates to our personal yoga practice, our studentship, and our teaching. Join us for the next IYNAUS DEIJ Yoga and Equity Symposium: “A Candid Community Conversation,” Saturday, July 24, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. EDT with Mychal A. Bryan.
Mychal A. Bryan, CIYT, will facilitate a sharing of ideas and pose questions to challenge and elevate our practice as an Iyengar community. In our final session in the 2020–2021 Yoga and Equity Series, we invite all practitioners to join DEIJ Committee members, past speakers, and volunteers in a community dialogue about moving from listening and learning to implementing change in practice. Where do we go from here? What changes have you tried to implement in your teaching and practice? What obstacles and opportunities have you encountered? Have you experienced changes within yourself, your students, your fellow practitioners, and your community because of this work?
