This manual covers all current rules and procedures relevant to teacher certification by the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States (IYNAUS). The manual contains a great wealth of information to help students and teaching candidates advance their practice and succeed in their quest for certification.
Topics covered include the system of certification, degrees and levels of certification, and the prerequisites for application. The syllabi for each level, reading lists, required knowledge are given. Criteria used in assessment is specified to guide candidates in their preparations for the process. Appendices include officially approved teacher training programs, ethical guidelines for teachers, and bibliography of recommended books on yoga and philosophy.
