IYNAUS is delighted to present Spotlighting Level 3 CIYTs.
IYNAUS scheduled a day each month to spotlight one Level 3 CIYT, offering them an opportunity to contribute their time and teach a one-and-a-half-hour class.
November 9, 11:00 a.m. EST – To Prop or Not to Prop. That is the Question with Rosa Santana
In “Light on Yoga,” there are no props (except for Guruji himself in plate 162). Iyengar Yoga is known for its use of props, but is it possible to become addicted to them? In this class, we will explore when and where props are essential and when they are overkill.
About Rosa:
Rosa Lopez Santana is an internationally recognized voice on the healing powers of yoga. She founded Yogarosa, the hub of Iyengar Yoga in South Florida, which introduced yoga to thousands of students, many of whom became teachers and studio owners. Since 1995, she has been empowering her students to embark on the pursuit of peace in body and mind.
Rosa is a Level 3 Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Physical and emotional pain has been the driving force behind her disciplined practice and studies with her teachers from India. She is passionate about mentoring the next generation of teachers with joy so that the light of yoga can continue to be passed down to younger generations.
She is a contributing author of the book Transitions with the Women Writer’s Group of South Beach.
When she is not practicing, teaching yoga, or writing about it, you can find her learning about the neuroscience of trauma, eating tacos in Coyoacan, or meditating with her Dachshund, Luna.
