Practiced with care, the abdominal asanas help to improve digestion, strengthen the abdominal and back muscles, tone the organs, and reduce excess fat around the abdominal region.
In this 1.5 hour class we will study healthy actions of the abdomen in different categories of asana. We will also look at some of the abdominal asanas and how to practice them progressively to bring health and strength to the core.
Menstruating women may join, and will do a separate sequence.
These quarterly classes are part of the Membership program for the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California. Teachers donate their time to teach these classes. Class is FREE for Members.
