This IYNAUS-sponsored weekend workshop is open to all CIYTs. Participants are expected to attend all sessions. Classes will cover the practice and teaching of the combined Intermediate Junior I-III syllabi. Laurie will cover the Asana and Pranayama as well as integrate the philosophy expectations and common modifications needed for health concerns of the general students.
LAURIE BLAKENEY has an Advanced Junior I teaching certificate granted to her by Guruji in 2008. She brings a uniquely personal and direct style of teaching, challenging students while helping them to enjoy exploring their potential. She loves to include artistic and philosophical considerations while staying true to the precision we know to be the cornerstone of the method. Laurie has mentored many CIYTs through their certification exams. She has served as chair and curriculum chair of many conventions and conferences. In February 2017 she will become the new IYNAUS Certification Committee Chair. This will be the second time she serves in that capacity.
SCC and The Iyengar Yoga Center of Scottsdale is privileged and honored to host this event. The workshop is located in the SCC Fitness & Wellness Center located near the tennis courts on the northwest corner of campus.
